Job Description
Temasek is looking for an Associate or Senior Associate to join our growing US Life Sciences practice. This is an important role with significant opportunity for progression, and we are interested in individuals that combine a proven passion for the life sciences with a robust financial analysis toolkit.
The role will involve:
- Conducting fundamental research on life sciences trends to form differentiated views
- Identifying and assessing investment opportunities across different company stages (venture, growth, mature), including private and public equity
- Supporting science/tech, business, financial, legal, and other due diligence workstreams
- Preparing financial models and decks, and recommending deals to the firm’s investment committee
- Monitoring portfolio companies to identify value creation, investment, and divestment opportunities
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate(s) should have:
- Bachelor’s degree from a top tier academic institution; ideally in science, engineering, or finance
- Advanced degree candidates are welcome (e.g. MD, PhD, MBA, MPH, BME)
- Between 1 and 4 years of relevant business experience in the field of life sciences, including investment banking, equity research, strategy consulting, or business development role
- Demonstrated interest in finance and investing
- Strong analytical capabilities and initiative to learn new skills quickly
- Proven ability to manage priorities and work independently in a professional setting
- Good communication, interpersonal & team skills
- Flexibility to work in a cross-border, multi-cultural, team-based environment
Other Requirements
All candidates must be authorized to work in the United States (visa sponsorship not available)
Salary Range: Base salary of US$120K – US$195K per annum (compensation structure includes various additional incentives payable in April, August and October annually)
