Quona Capital is a venture capital firm investing in financial technology companies in emerging markets. We are looking for a high-performing analyst to join Quona’s Latin America team.

The role is based out of Mexico City, with occasional travel to Latin America and other Quona markets. The analyst will work directly with Quona’s Latin American investment team on various aspects of the investment and portfolio management processes, with direct exposure to high-energy entrepreneurial and VC ecosystems in Latin America. This role will also collaborate closely with Quona’s global team and portfolio of investments across Sub Saharan Africa, the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia.

Role Responsibilities

  • Source and filter investment opportunities, building a strong network within the fintech space. The candidate should be open and excited to represent the firm in ecosystem events and connect with founders and peer investors.
  • Directly support the investment team members to conduct business, financial, and technology due diligence, helping move deals from first meeting to close.
  • Develop financial models and company valuation analyses.
  • Conduct thematic research and competitive deep dives within fintech sub-sectors.
  • Support portfolio companies and management teams on short-term operational projects as well as long-term decision-making.
  • Assist with quarterly reporting of portfolio performance, and support the Quona Operations, Platform, and Investor Relations Teams.
  • Assist with investment pipeline management and automation initiatives within the fund and the team’s day-to-day investing operations.

  • Excellent Spanish and English business writing and communication skills (Portuguese fluency will be viewed as a plus).
  • Bachelor’s degree with excellent academic performance.
  • The position is open to multiple previous backgrounds. The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of experience in either:
    • Evaluating investment opportunities – ability to quickly identify and analyze the key questions, risks, or upsides to an investment;
    • Identifying and implementing strategic, commercial, and/or operational improvements in fast-paced environments for scaling or scaled companies;
    • Launching an entrepreneurial endeavor with clear objectives, plans, and initial traction – either as founder or early employee.
  • Commitment to work in-person from offices located in Colonia Juarez, Mexico City, at least 3 days a week. Ability to travel approximately one week per quarter to other geographies in Latin America, the United States, and across the globe.
