British Patient Capital Overview
British Patient Capital started in June 2018 after the UK government’s Patient Capital Review.
The Review showed that while the UK is great for innovation, many companies struggle to get long-term finance, which stops them from growing to their full potential.
To address this, the British Business Bank, a government-owned development bank, created British Patient Capital as a commercial subsidiary.
Since then, British Patient Capital has become the UK’s largest domestic investor in venture and growth opportunities.
They invest commercially to achieve competitive returns and manage risk, focusing on the late-stage funding gap.
They invest in sectors like:
- Consumer Goods & Services
- Engineering
- Financial and Insurance Services
- Health & Social Care
- And many more
British Patient Capital is based in Sheffield, England.
