Insight Partners Overview

Insight Partners is a global venture capital and private equity firm which mainly focuses on high-growth tech and software firms.

They work with entrepreneurs and management teams to help them build a profitable and leading business. The firm aims to invest for the long term and assists its portfolio companies so they can achieve their growth goals.

Jeff Horing and Jerry Murdock founded the firm in 1995. Horing and Murdock took the opportunity to invest in software and technology firms during the time when there’s a rapid expansion in the technology industry.

Currently, their headquarters is located in New York City – with Horing being the firm’s Managing Director and Co-Founder, while Murdock is the Founding Partner and Board Partner.

Over the years, Insight Partners has built its reputation as an industry leader and has helped various firms reach their full potential.

Insight Partners has not yet gone public.

So, no funds have been raised through an IPO. But the firm has raised significant amounts of capital through private fundraising and has been well-known for its investment strategies and performance.

Insight Partners had their recent fundraising – Fund XII – on February 24, 2022, which boosted their regulatory assets under management to more than $90 billion.

Even though firms modify their interview process for each candidate, Insight Partners and similar firms have some common interview processes which you can expect to be consistent.

The interview process usually has 4-6 rounds.
The junior investment professionals or the HR team often do the initial interviews, while the senior individuals conduct the following rounds.
The entire interview process may take several weeks, unless it’s part of an “on-cycle” or “on-campus” recruitment activity.

But for Insight Partners, their interview process often checks your fit with the company, behavioral aspects, and technical and investment-related questions.

Insight Partners is considered to be the leading venture capital and private equity firm which invests in high-growth technology and software companies.

As per Crunchbase, Insight Partners has already made over 997 investments since 1995. And after their most recent fundraising (Insight Partners XII), they’ve raised a total of $46.1B across 11 funds.

The funds raised are used to assist companies that are in the growth stage, early-stage startups, and late-stage.

Last 2020, Insight Partners made huge investments in the tech industry.

They were behind the $20 million investment for Honeycomb, $165 million Series B funding for Tricentis, a $150 million funding for Monday.com, and a $50 million investment in Altruist.
