ABOUT ELEVATION
Originating new investments is a highly valued skillset in the private equity industry. Our proprietary deal sourcing engine allows Alpine’s investing and operating teams to buy and then build the best businesses possible.
Strong performers tend to be organized self-starters that are confident in their communication and critical thinking skills. Compensation is structured to incentivize high performers with an unlimited ceiling on earnings.
We offer a robust training & development program to open a door to the private equity industry for individuals from a variety of backgrounds. Prior experience or education in finance is not required, but there should be a demonstrated interest in business and investing. Sales or external-facing experience will also translate well for this role.
THE ROLE
This dynamic position will focus across Alpine’s investments in software and services, consisting of:
– (i) researching and identifying markets to invest in
– (ii) compiling lists of prospective companies and their executives
– (iii) reaching out directly to CEOs/Owners with a strongly crafted message to gauge their interest in selling
– (iv) evaluating company fundamentals and growth opportunities of the potential investment.
Analysts will work closely with Alpine employees, as well as Corporate Development employees at Alpine’s portfolio companies. Analysts will be based out of Alpine’s
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Research:Â This individual will be responsible for executing targeted projects to understand the markets in which direct outreach will occur. This will consist of identifying leadership, market fit, main drivers of value, and more in companies using various databases and internet research. Research will help analysts develop knowledge of multiple industries and trends.
Outreach:Â This individual will be responsible for creating and executing a strategy with the result of engaging a business owner in a discussion of an acquisition. This will be a combination of emailing, calling, and other creative outreach. These conversations will be directly with CEOs and other C-Suite professionals and help develop strong communication skills. Analysts will deliver an Alpine or relevant portfolio company pitch with the goal of establishing a baseline of investment compatibility.
Investment Evaluation: After establishing contact with a business owner, this individual will conduct the initial evaluation of a new opportunity, process Non-Disclosure Agreements, and pitch investment opportunities to our internal team. A strong understanding of Alpine’s investment criteria will be required. Over time, analysts will develop their own investing judgment and, as sourced opportunities progress, will gain exposure to the due diligence and negotiation processes required get to a closed deal.
Candidates must be excited about a role where they will be on the phone/Zoom for a significant portion of the day and where research, cold calling and cold emailing are required.
