Analyst, Asset-Backed Finance

Apollo Global Management is looking for a Trading Analyst to join their Asset-Backed Finance team in El Segundo, CA. This role focuses on residential mortgage-backed securities and involves supporting trading activities, preparing reports, and analyzing investment opportunities. What You’ll Do

• Work closely with traders and portfolio managers on daily trading activities.
• Help screen investment opportunities in the residential mortgage-backed securities market.
• Prepare presentations for internal meetings about investments.
• Accurately book and maintain trade activity in internal systems.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth trade settlements.
• Reconcile positions and validate trading exposure and P&L.
• Assist with ongoing portfolio maintenance and trade confirmations.

What You Need

• 0-2 years of relevant experience; prior experience in residential mortgage is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university, ideally in a quantitative field like economics or finance.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of VBA and SQL is a bonus.
• Professional, organized, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
