Associate, Portfolio Company Value Creation

Ares Management is looking for an Associate to join their Portfolio Optimization team in Los Angeles. In this role, you’ll work directly with the Managing Director to develop and implement strategies that drive value creation across portfolio companies. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys both strategic planning and hands-on execution, especially in tech and AI-driven initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Work closely with the Managing Director to create value plans for portfolio companies.
• Translate investment strategies into actionable initiatives.
• Design and implement performance measurement systems.
• Identify tech and AI opportunities to enhance business operations.
• Support management teams in executing initiatives that drive performance.

What You Need

• Bachelor’s degree required; strong academic performance preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or a similar analytical environment.
• Experience in an operating role at a technology-enabled or middle-market company is a plus.
• Strong skills in business intelligence tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Ability to design KPI systems and performance dashboards.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• High emotional intelligence and strong communication skills.
