Associate, Origination – Business Development & Sales

WayPoint Capital Partners is looking for an Associate in Origination to join their team in Stamford, CT. This role is all about finding and building relationships with potential investment opportunities. You’ll be working closely with senior professionals to shape the firm’s deal pipeline and represent the firm at industry events. What You’ll Do

• Identify and build relationships with business owners and advisors to find new investment opportunities.
• Research and segment target industries to create detailed lists of potential investments.
• Manage and track deal opportunities using CRM tools.
• Support senior team members in developing long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
• Lead outreach campaigns to targeted companies and intermediaries.
• Collaborate with deal teams to evaluate new opportunities.
• Represent the firm at industry events to enhance brand visibility.

What You Need

• 2-4 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or business development.
• Strong understanding of the private equity landscape, especially in the lower middle market.
• Proven ability to build relationships with business owners and intermediaries.
• Excellent organizational and research skills.
• Analytical mindset to understand key business and financial drivers.
• Self-motivated and energized by outreach and relationship-building.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
