Associate, Private Equity Buyout Investing

Northern Shore Capital is looking for a Private Equity Associate or Senior Associate to join their investment team in Birmingham, MI. This role involves taking ownership of deal processes, conducting market research, and building financial models. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and have the chance to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

• Take ownership of deal processes and manage diligence workstreams.
• Work closely with senior leadership on investment activities.
• Build and maintain financial models for new investment opportunities.
• Conduct market research to support investment thesis development.
• Prepare investment committee materials and internal memos.
• Build relationships with industry professionals to drive deal flow.
• Coordinate with third-party diligence providers.
• Participate in calls and meetings with management teams and stakeholders.

What You Need

• 4-6 years of total professional experience.
• 2-3 years in investment banking, transaction advisory, or consulting focused on M&A.
• 1-3 years in private equity or growth equity for Senior Associate candidates.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Collaborative team player with a low-ego approach.
• Experience in healthcare services or consumer multi-site businesses is a plus.
