Blackstone Multi-Asset Investing (BXMA) manages $83 billion across a diversified set of businesses. Our strategies include Absolute Return, which supports diversification, and Multi-Strategy, which invests opportunistically across asset classes, including direct investments.

Program Description

Blackstone’s Summer Analyst Program is a 10 week in-person experience, offering participants extensive exposure across the firm. This program provides Summer Analysts with valuable guidance through mentorship, continuous feedback, technical and soft skill training, networking opportunities with professionals across the firm, and the unique chance to fully immerse themselves in Blackstone’s culture.

Successful applicants will be offered a role allowing for exposure and direct involvement across BXMA Absolute Return groups (listed below) tailored to specific business needs.

Absolute Return Strategy Teams: BXMA has four ‘strategy teams’ in Absolute Return – Equity, Credit, Quant, and Macro.  These teams are responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and monitoring investments within their respective strategy categories.  Investments span external fund investments, co-investments, and direct investments.

Portfolio Management: The Portfolio Management team is responsible for building, analyzing, managing and optimizing commingled and customized Absolute Return portfolios for BXMA.  Additionally, they oversee BXMA’s liquid alternative product offerings across both registered and private fund structures.

Portfolio Strategy: The Portfolio Strategy team is responsible for delivering clear and consistent communications to Absolute Return clients on performance, portfolio narrative, go-forward strategy (e.g., portfolio plans for new investments / redemptions), and any Absolute Return-related bespoke content for distribution.

Total Portfolio Management (TPM): The TPM team manages customized total portfolios across asset classes in both public and private markets on behalf of select clients.  These portfolios aim to embrace a long-term time horizon, flexible asset allocation, and robust portfolio construction.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, diligence, and underwrite prospective investment opportunities across asset classes and strategies. Monitor existing positions, themes, and exposures to identify potential areas of focus and optimization
  • Gather and analyze market data to help inform and educate investment teams on current market conditions, factors impacting asset class performance and broader market themes. Integrate strategic asset allocation views and proprietary portfolio construction principles into client portfolio management processes
  • Develop investment memos and presentations for Investment Committee and client deliverables
  • Support data management, process enhancements and efficiency efforts

Qualifications:

BXMA seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.  In addition to strong analytical and time management skills, the successful candidate must have:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A basic knowledge of accounting and finance
  • Demonstrates excellence in programming skills in any general-purpose programming language (i.e., Python, SQL)
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • A desire to work in a team environment with dynamic roles
  • Self-motivation to find solutions independently
  • Sincere commitment to personal and professional development
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • Good judgment

  • Anticipated graduation date: Fall 2026 – Spring 2027

Expected annual base salary range:

$110,000 – $110,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual’s experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
