Job Description:
Blackstone Credit & Insurance (BXCI) is seeking to add an Associate to its Portfolio Insights team within the Office of the Chief Investment Officer (OCIO). The Portfolio Insights team is primarily responsible for (i) overseeing portfolio company performance and health across BXCI asset classes; (ii) managing BXCI’s credit watchlist and working closely with BXCI’s asset management team in instances of underperformance; (iii) identifying trends in underlying performance, including through regular portfolio and sector reviews; (iv) tracking trends in investment activity across BXCI; (v) collaborating closely across other functions within OCIO and the broader BXCI platform; and (vi) preparing analysis, updates and presentations regarding the aforementioned topics. The candidate will work closely with all OCIO functions, investment teams as well across as the broader platform and senior management to execute on these responsibilities. Candidates can expect to work on numerous initiatives at a time given the lean size of the team.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Reviewing portfolio company performance and identifying areas of outperformance and underperformance
- Supporting the management of BXCI’s credit watchlist
- Data analysis to identify trends in both the market and BXCI’s portfolio; preparing presentations on portfolio and investment trends
- Helping to develop and maintain portfolio management and monitoring tools and initiatives to support investment management initiatives across BXCI
- Content creation, for both internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications:
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, have sound judgement, are intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical skills, the successful candidate should have:
- Undergraduate degree
- 2+ years of experience, ideally within investment banking, management / strategy consulting, or advisory / related valuation or transaction services. Experience and familiarity with credit investing / leveraged finance markets is a plus
- Strong financial analysis, data management and presentation skills
- A high degree of proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
- Detail-oriented focus
- Critical thinking skills, including identifying trends and insights from raw data sets
- High degree of motivation and ability to work well independently
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and responsibilities
- Strong interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally and manage both internal and external business relationships

Expected annual base salary range:
$120,000 – $160,000
Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual’s experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
