Job Title: Investment Strategist, Associate

Location: London

Key Responsibilities:

Blackstone is seeking to hire an Associate to join the Investment Strategy team based in London. The Investment Strategy team sits within its Private Wealth Solutions group and is responsible for the development of Blackstone’s macro views as well as thematic thought leadership on macro and market related themes. The team leads client engagement on macro topics and works with investment teams on asset allocation, specific investment projects and strategic decisions.

The individual will be working on thematic research in the intersection between macro and finance, as well as contributing to the team’s broader day-to-day activities. Given the team’s many touchpoints across the firm, the individual will work with a variety of professionals across job functions, including investment and asset management teams, investor and client services, and operational groups including legal, marketing, and others.

The successful candidate will be a highly skilled researcher in economics or finance, with a track record of conducting original research at the highest level. We are looking for candidates interested in the application of research to real world decision making and in building a broad experience and long-term career in a fast-growing firm. The position provides the time and focus that is necessary to conduct high quality research together with the breadth of exposure that is necessary to build a well-rounded career.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting thematic research to help drive thought leadership
  • Shorter term ad hoc projects to respond to higher frequency events and questions
  • Contribute to presentation materials
  • Joint projects with other businesses in the firm

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working environment, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.

The successful candidate must have:

  • A Ph.D. in economics or finance with a strong track record in conducting original research
  • Outstanding quantitative, verbal and written skills
  • Experience with coding languages or statistical analysis software is a plus
  • Adaptable, “can-do” attitude, with the ability and desire to work on a wide of topics
