About The Job

As our Investment Analyst/Associate, you will get the opportunity to help build Europe’s future leading venture capital company. By giving you great responsibilities, we will constantly push you out of your comfort zone. To ensure a continuous growth curve, we give you the opportunity to:
- Further your career by gaining operational experience in a growing venture company where both your work and results are tangible and meaningful to the company.
- Work closely with our CEO, our Investment Committee (successful entrepreneurs), and other Investment Associates on our investment strategy and expansion efforts.
- Be entrusted with tasks that are usually reserved for people with 5+ years in the labor market (select the startups you believe in and pitch them during our investment committee).
Key Responsibilities
You will be the key player in our investment sourcing and screening, which means that you will:
- Work closely with our network of partners to assess investment opportunities.
- Represent BlackWood and develop our network at various tech events.
- Identify and contact the best startups through inbound and outbound deal flow.
- Conduct due diligence to build a conviction on potential deals and prepare presentations of the best investment cases for the Investment Committee.
- Continuously improve our framework for working with start-ups and partners.

- Have prior experience in relevant industries: climate tech, fintech, or web 3.0.
Requirements
You have an incredible work ethic with a high understanding of urgency. You have a drive and a desire to be the very best at what you do. You take ownership of what you do. In addition, you are humble, and you share our passion for building new businesses. Notably, we expect that you:
- Have 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in venture capital, startups, or related fields.
- Have an entrepreneurial flair.
- Are an excellent communicator.
- Have excellent social skills.
- Have a structured and process-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Have a curious and business mindset, and enjoy working with numbers and data.
- Are fluent in English both in writing and orally. Another European language is a plus.
- No EU sponsorship required.
