Private Equity Analyst

The Analyst position will be geographically located in Shanghai or Beijing, China conducting research on potential investments, building financial models, assisting in due diligence, building investment committee memos, portfolio overviews etc. The role is an important component of The Carlyle Group, offering a differential experience due to the roles Analysts play as well as our value-added approach to investment management.  Analysts will benefit from working closely with management teams.  The breadth of industries, the multiple types of investments and the overall deal volume, will provide a unique opportunity to gain significant research and analytical experience in a short period of time.

• Research various industries to assess market situations and opportunities, competitive advantages of potential and existing investments

• Provide high quality financial analysis, valuations, financial modeling, analytical and market research support and investment memorandums

• Assist in deal screening and due diligence in transactions

• Assist in the structuring and negotiating of transactions

• Work with external advisors on deal transactions

• Help oversee investment portfolio and working with management at our portfolio companies

• Assist with the process of selling or otherwise liquidating our investments

• Strong academic background, Undergraduate or Master Degree from top universities

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience at a leading Investment Bank or Private Equity Firm

• Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail

• Excellent command of both spoken and written in Chinese and English

• Strong research and analytical skills as well as superior interpersonal communication and presentation skills

• Strong work ethics and integrity and be capable of performing under pressure in pursuit of results
