Salary Range: $150,000-$200,000
Our Investment Analysts operate in a flat and lean structure relative to the size of the assets we manage with high levels of interaction across the Investment team, Portfolio Managers, and with our Chairman/CIO and Co-Founder, Rajiv Jain. GQG is a vibrant learning environment where questions and dissenting opinions are welcome. Our team consists of investment professionals from a variety of backgrounds including journalism, hedge funds, sell-side research, private equity, etc.
All Analysts are encouraged to search across the globe for attractive investment opportunities and present them to the team. Analysts are typically sector and geography agnostic, covering everything from software to commodities in both emerging markets and developed markets. We believe it is important for Analysts to be able to assess and compare investment ideas across multiple sectors and encourage creativity in the idea generation process.
GQG is a dynamic workplace where Analysts have an opportunity to participate in responsibilities beyond securities selection, including but not limited to mock stock portfolios, client presentations, and other business functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Work independently on a high volume and broad range of stock ideas.
- Develop clear, concise, and insightful write-ups at a quick pace.
- Recommend stocks that create a material impact on the book.
- Communicate recommendations to the PM team in a clear, concise, and effective manner.
- Source ideas across a wide range of countries and sectors.
- Contribute fresh, new, and challenging perspectives and ideas.
- Research economic issues related to investment opportunities across various sectors.
- Analyze data using mathematical models, statistical tools, and other software.
- Interpret and forecast trends relating to financial markets.
- Review a wide variety and diverse set of industries, sectors, and organizations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in public markets investing.
- Strong academic background including Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or similar.
- Generalist or a strong desire to be a generalist.
- Passionate – strong personal interest in the art of investing.
- Self starter – ability to work on deliverables and projects independently.
- Pro-active, self-driven, and self-aware.
- Adaptable, open minded, and self-aware.
- Competitive team player.
- Solid analytical/logical mindset with attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence balanced with humility.
