This summer, we are looking to hire a Venture Capital Analyst to join our Early Stage team in Berlin. We seek a sharp, curious, analytical candidate who can evaluate investment opportunities, conduct market research, and support portfolio companies. The ideal candidate should possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for technology and innovation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Portfolio Support (40%): You will provide analytical support and strategic insights to manage and monitor the performance of existing portfolio companies, fostering growth and addressing challenges.
  • New Deal Flow Support (40%): You will actively identify and assess new investment opportunities in deep tech sectors, participate in due diligence and financial modelling, and prepare investment memos and presentations.
  • Reporting and Internal Support (20%): You will assist with the portfolio’s monthly reporting cycles.

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior VCs, gain hands-on experience in venture capital investments, and be part of a team of 60 VC professionals. You will have a front-row seat for rising startups and their founder teams – and be part of one of Europe’s largest VC teams.

Requirements

  • Ideally, you should have a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or computer science and 2-3 years of professional experience, particularly in business or finance-related areas. Alternatively, a master’s degree with at least 1 year of work experience is also helpful.
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and financial acumen.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with team members and founders.
  • Fluent in German; proficiency in English is a must.
  • We recognize that venture capital can seem like a “closed shop,” and we are committed to changing this perception. Our selection process is designed to be inclusive, emphasising your responses to our screening questions more than your CV. Additionally, we use cognitive ability tests to give you a chance to showcase your skills. We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
