TEAM OVERVIEW
KKR’s Global Impact team is based in Singapore and covers the region together with the KKR country networks. This team is responsible for sourcing and executing potential investments in alignment with the business’ focus areas: impact investing.
Impact investing is the practice of investing in companies and organizations with the intent to contribute to measurable positive social or environmental outcomes alongside financial returns. We invest in companies whose core product or service seeks to provide a solution to a critical and locally relevant environmental or social challenge, as defined by the SDGs, thereby driving positive, measurable outcomes or impact.
Using our suite of global resources and tested private equity playbook, we seek to build and grow these companies and generate positive returns for our investors.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking to hire a 6-month intern between July – December 2024 to be based in Singapore. The intern will be involved in all aspects of the investment process in Asia across Global Impact investments including origination and due diligence, transaction structuring, financing and executing post-closing growth/add-on strategies. As part of a dedicated team in Asia, s/he will be asked to contribute immediately and will have significant responsibilities and exposure, notably working in close collaboration regarding sourcing activities with the Private Equity industry and country teams, as well as with NGT and Infrastructure.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Examine industry trends and identify investment themes
- Screen and originate deal opportunities in line with the investment themes
- Support in-depth due diligence and business analyses on new investment opportunities
- Provide support across all aspects of the deal execution process
- Participate in the management of portfolio companies, including support on analysis and reporting
CRITICAL COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS
- An ideal candidate will have a genuine enthusiasm and curiosity for investing, is highly analytical, entrepreneurial professional with experience working on demanding, high-performing teams. Investment experience across different industries is considered valuable. Prior deal experience in impact investing is helpful, but not required
- Prior experience analyzing and structuring investments using sophisticated research, analytical, quantitative and financial modeling/valuation skills is required. S/he will thrive in a merit-based environment functioning as a member of a highly collaborative, tight-knit team
- S/he is expected to be able to operate independently
- Past experience in private equity, growth investing, investment banking or consulting will be advantageous
- Strong interest for impact investing and commitment to sustainability required.
- Candidates must have excellent academic credentials from a top-tier institution(s)
