Who is Love Ventures?

Love Ventures is an exciting, early stage Venture Capital firm that was founded in 2020 by two brothers, Marcus and Adrian Love.

Love Ventures has successfully raised four and deployed three EIS funds. The current offering seeks to close twice a year and deploy capital within a 12-month period. The Love Ventures offering is expected to continue to expand, with potential additional products for investors and intermediaries, including institutional focussed offerings.

The team comprises: Marcus Love (General Partner), Adrian Love (General Partner), Faye Williams (Distribution Director),  Kit Blakiston Houston (Head of Direct Investors), Alice Knibbs (Senior Associate) & Bill Corfield (Senior Associate). The team is dynamic and ambitious with a range of backgrounds from Capgemini, The Instant Group, Barclays Ventures, Octopus Investments & Backed VC.

As part of the wider team, Love Ventures has a highly experienced investment committee which comprises of four members, three of whom are exited founders from Skyscanner, Instant Group and Passmark Security, as well as one with corporate technology experience from Google and UiPath.

What is the role?

Love Ventures is seeking a summer intern. The position is available for a period of up to six months from June 2024.  The duration and exact dates are flexible depending on the candidate’s availability. The role will be supporting Love Ventures Investor Relations with expanding the investor database plus operational and reporting tasks associated with client relationship management.

Individuals considering this role will be required to be in the London office (213 Oxford Street) and must be able to travel to this location for a minimum of 3 days per week.

Investor Relations Intern core job functions:

  • Assisting with enhancing the investor database and processes for Love Ventures EIS Fund
  • Assisting with gathering and analysing data for investor presentations, quarterly reports, and newsletters
  • Supporting the management of investor enquiries which may include, providing information relating to investors portfolios, detailing Fund performance metrics, offering updates on portfolio companies, providing breakdowns of EIS certificates and contract notes
  • Sourcing new leads and building the investor database through the use of sources such as Beauhurst and LinkedIn
  • Updating the CRM system with new leads and relevant client data
  • Conducting market research and analysing industry trends to support investor communications
  • Analysing company data and collaborating with the core teams to develop new and exciting materials for investors
  • Assisting in compliance and regulatory reporting requirements related to investor relations

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Strong interest in venture capital, private equity or investment management
  • Currently pursuing a qualification or a degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field or having recently completed similar
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
  • Ability to use python/code is highly desirable, as well as knowledge of HubSpot
  • Highly organised with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
