Managing Director, Business Development

Ares Management is looking for a Business Development Officer to join their Commercial Finance Group. In this role, you’ll leverage your network to find new business opportunities and work closely with clients to provide innovative financing solutions. You’ll be involved in analyzing and structuring deals, negotiating terms, and collaborating with underwriters. This position offers a chance to be part of a dynamic team in a growing industry.

What You’ll Do

• Use your network to find new business opportunities
• Work with prospects and the legal team to process agreements
• Analyze and structure new business opportunities for credit approval
• Negotiate terms with prospects to move opportunities forward
• Collaborate with underwriters throughout the documentation process
• Travel to meet prospects as needed
• Attend industry events to source business and learn
• Prepare weekly reports on business pipeline

What You Need

• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent required
• 5+ years as a Business Development Officer, preferably in asset-based lending
• 5+ years of experience in origination and/or restructuring
• Advanced knowledge of Asset Based Lending and commercial financial services
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships
• Experience with asset backed lending and cash flow lending is a plus
• Strong structuring experience preferred
