Portfolio Manager, Venture Capital

The State of Wisconsin Investment Board is looking for a Portfolio Manager to join their Venture Capital team. In this role, you’ll focus on identifying and managing venture capital investments, working closely with top-tier managers and entrepreneurs. You’ll be responsible for due diligence, relationship management, and monitoring fund performance, all while contributing to the financial well-being of Wisconsin’s public service employees.

What You’ll Do

• Identify and evaluate venture capital and growth equity fund opportunities.
• Lead due diligence and manage fund relationships.
• Prepare investment recommendations and manage approval processes.
• Monitor portfolio performance and maintain dialogue with general partners.
• Source and evaluate direct co-investment opportunities.
• Participate in industry events to strengthen networks.

What You Need

• 10+ years of experience in venture capital or growth equity.
• Strong analytical skills for evaluating fund performance.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Self-starter who thrives in a relationship-driven environment.
• Deep sector knowledge in technology, healthcare, or consumer markets is a plus.
• Advanced degree or CFA charterholder preferred.
