Principal, Capital Controls & Planning

Ares Management is looking for a Principal, Capital Controls & Planning Lead to join their Ada Infrastructure team. This role involves leading a team that ensures financial integrity and governance across construction projects. You’ll work closely with various stakeholders to enhance data quality and reporting, driving financial discipline and supporting informed decision-making.

What You’ll Do

• Build and lead a high-performing team for CAPEX developments
• Establish and enhance cost governance standards
• Ensure data integrity between development tools and accounting systems
• Lead contractor financial closeout and invoice reconciliation
• Support accounting with fixed asset capitalization
• Provide guidance on cost processes and best practices

What You Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, or a related field
• 10+ years in construction/project controls/capital projects
• Strong background in construction cost accounting and CAPEX governance
• Experience with GAAP and IFRS preferred
• High proficiency in Excel and Office 365
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
