The Carlyle Group is looking for a Principal in their Global Funds Legal team to support their wealth-focused funds. This role involves providing legal advice on fund formation, governance, and regulatory matters. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in fund formation and a strong legal background. What You’ll Do

  • Help prepare and review regulatory filings and offering documents
  • Draft and negotiate limited partnership and distribution agreements
  • Assist with fund governance and operational matters
  • Work on internal regulatory issues
  • Collaborate with outside counsel as needed

What You Need

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a top-tier law school
  • Active member of the bar in at least one state or D.C.
  • At least 7 years of experience at a reputable law firm focusing on fund formation
  • Familiarity with the 1934 Securities Exchange Act and 1940 Investment Company Act is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to think critically and spot issues
  • Team player with good judgment
