Principal, Private Equity Buyout

Salt Creek Capital is looking for a Private Equity Principal or Managing Director to join their team in Austin, Texas. In this role, you’ll lead leveraged buyouts and manage all phases of the deal process. You’ll have the chance to work independently while leveraging the firm’s resources to drive successful transactions. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in private equity who is ready to take on a leadership role.

What You’ll Do

• Lead 1-3 acquisitions each year from start to finish.
• Source and evaluate potential acquisition targets.
• Negotiate and structure deals, including financing arrangements.
• Oversee due diligence processes across various areas.
• Present investment opportunities to the investment committee.
• Drive value creation in portfolio companies.
• Support key management hires and CEO recruitment.
• Manage exits and liquidity events for portfolio companies.

What You Need

• 7+ years of total experience in finance or private equity.
• At least 3 years in lower middle market private equity, search funds, or independent sponsor work.
• Proven track record of originating and closing buyout transactions.
• Strong financial modeling and accounting skills.
• Strategic thinker with experience in board-level leadership.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently.
• BA/BS required; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
