Principal, Investing Strategy

Gardner Standard LLC is looking for a Principal to join their investment team in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys challenges and has a strong background in finance and accounting. You’ll be involved in sourcing deals, conducting due diligence, and working closely with management teams to drive growth and value creation.

What You’ll Do

• Source and evaluate new investment opportunities
• Build and maintain detailed financial models
• Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investments
• Manage existing investments and collaborate with portfolio companies
• Work with senior leadership and external advisors to drive transactions
• Partner with company leaders to enhance performance post-acquisition

What You Need

• Bachelor’s degree and CPA designation required
• 2–3+ years of experience at a public accounting firm
• 2–5+ years in private equity, turnaround consulting, or related fields
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with ERP systems preferred
• Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Excellent communication skills
• Competitive spirit, ideally with a background in athletics
