Principal, Portfolio Risk | Credit

Apollo Global Management is looking for a Principal in EMEA Portfolio Risk to join their London team. This role involves overseeing and analyzing credit and multi-asset portfolios while collaborating with Portfolio Managers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in investment risk and a strong understanding of credit markets. What You’ll Do

• Monitor and assess risks in credit and multi-asset portfolios.
• Work closely with Portfolio Managers to evaluate portfolio construction and risk exposures.
• Conduct detailed risk analysis, including stress testing and scenario analysis.
• Provide independent recommendations to influence investment decisions.
• Enhance proprietary risk systems for better analysis of exposures.
• Develop analytical tools to improve efficiency in risk management.
• Prepare and present risk reports to senior management.
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure best practices in risk management.

What You Need

• 10+ years of experience in investment or portfolio risk, especially in credit strategies.
• Strong understanding of credit markets, including various products and derivatives.
• Solid quantitative and analytical skills for risk modeling and analytics.
• Proficiency in Python and/or SQL for developing analytical tools.
• Experience collaborating with Portfolio Managers to influence investment decisions.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex risk concepts.
• Strong project management skills to handle multiple priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a quantitative field preferred.
