General Summary:
As an investment manager at Qualcomm Ventures, you will play a pivotal role in driving our investment strategy, identifying, and evaluating potential investment opportunities, and supporting the growth and success of our portfolio companies. This is an exciting and dynamic role that requires a strong blend of financial acumen, deep technology understanding, strategic thinking, and entrepreneurial mindset.
Key Responsibilities
• Deal Sourcing: Proactively source, screen, and evaluate potential investment opportunities.
• Support New Investments: Be involved in the entire deal-making process, including sourcing, due diligence, and evaluation.
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, industry experts, and other stakeholders in the startup ecosystem.
• Investment Strategy Development: Collaborate with the investment team to define and refine the investment strategy based on market trends, competitive analysis, and the company’s strategic objectives.
• Portfolio Management: Provide ongoing support and guidance to portfolio companies, assisting with strategic planning, business development, and operational improvements. Monitor financial and operational performance, track key metrics, and prepare regular reports and updates for senior management
• Internal Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Qualcomm Business Units as well as legal and finance.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of Ventures or related work experience.
OR
Associate’s degree and 7+ years of Ventures or related work experience.
OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 9+ years of Ventures or related work experience.
*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
Requirements
• Proven experience in venture capital or investment banking.
• Technical background / experience preferred.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence skills.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong network and connections within the startup ecosystem are highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE preferred.
• Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
