

[What the role is]
As the investment arm of Enterprise Singapore, SEEDS Capital’s mandate is to catalyse smart investments into innovative Singapore-based early-stage startups with strong intellectual content and global market potential. We adopt a co-investment model, working hand-in-hand with institutional investors from around the world to direct funding into emerging and strategic sectors aligned with national priorities, including Manufacturing, Trade & Connectivity, Human Health & Potential, Urban Solutions & Sustainability, and Smart Nation & Digital Economy.
As an Investment Manager within SEEDS Capital, you will play a key role in sourcing, engaging and supporting high growth start-ups that are targeting disruptive opportunities in key industry clusters. You will leverage ESG’s equity investment programs, financial and non-financial initiatives to support the start-ups’ needs in areas such as financing, markets and talent. You will engage a portfolio of companies, and work closely with investor partners, EnterpriseSG’s Industry Cluster and Global Markets teams, and other government agencies to facilitate the effective delivery of SEEDS Capital’s mandate.
[What you will be working on]
Investment management
- Work with partners (e.g. Venture Capital firms, Accelerators, Corporate Venture Capitalists) to identify and manage deal flow opportunities.
- Assess commercial viability, strategic/ developmental considerations, conduct due diligence and recommend deals to management and investment committee for investment.
- Manage post-investment operations.
Portfolio management & reporting
- Monitor portfolio companies’ performance (e.g. fund-raising activities, revenue and valuation growth) and provide relevant updates and reporting to both management and external stakeholders (e.g. Board of Directors, Ministries)
- Develop, manage and/or execute programs and projects to support growth of portfolio companies and achieve a healthy return on investment.
Projects & initiatives
- Lead or participate in internal process improvement projects to improve effectiveness, efficiency and scalability of investment management and reporting operations.
- Contribute to communications and publicity efforts to raise profile of portfolio companies, co-investment partners, and SEEDS Capital.
- As an EnterpriseSG Officer, participate in other organisation-wide initiatives or efforts to develop the local tech startup ecosystem.
