Sightline Climate accelerates the deployment of climate tech solutions by providing clients with industry leading insights, data, analytics, and research on both technologies and markets. Sightline’s subscription intelligence platform gives investors, corporates, and governments the insights they need to anticipate developments and to confidently build and finance the new climate economy. Sightline Climate also produces CTVC, the industry-leading newsletter read by 60,000 climate leaders.
We are looking for a Senior Research Associate to expand and guide our research at Sightline Climate. This role includes conducting primary research of your own, as well as the opportunity to lead a team that analyzes market data, identifies new trends, and produces insightful analyses that help shape the climate tech landscape.
The Role
- Conduct in-depth research across critical sectors in power, industrial decarbonization, carbon, batteries, or mining.
- Engage in primary research to explore new areas, technologies, and sectors within the climate tech industry.
- Develop research methodologies to collect and analyze data, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Convert complex data and research findings into compelling, actionable frameworks and insights for a range of audiences, including investors, policy makers, and industry leaders.
- Engage with and present to external stakeholders, offering thought leadership and reinforcing and expanding Sightline Climate’s position as the premier source of climate tech intelligence.
- Stay on top of the latest trends and advancements in climate tech and integrate these insights into our research framework.
The Essentials
- 3+ years of expertise in one or more of the following areas: industrial decarbonization, carbon capture and storage, carbon removal, gridtech, batteries, or mining and metals.
- Experience in developing and managing research, primarily in climate technology or related fields.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex data in a comprehensible manner.
- Innately curious and passionate about climate tech innovation.
- An ability to explore and understand the commercial and economic implications
A Plus
- A PhD or Master’s Degree in Environment / Climate, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Physics or other Sciences
- Additional data analysis skills / experience in Excel, SQL, or Python
