Position Summary
Sorenson Capital is hiring an Investor Relations Associate to work directly with the firm’s Head of Investor Relations and the Partnership. The Investor Relations Associate is a core team member responsible for coordinating, communicating, and operating the Investor Relations program. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, energized, detail-oriented, intellectually curious, relationship-driven, and thrives in a small team and fast-moving environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Own, produce, and maintain LP-related materials, including pitchbooks, fund factsheets, onsite presentations, quarterly newsletters, data rooms, investor FAQs, compliance-related materials, and customized materials
- Project manage and maintain the investor relations CRM (i.e., Attio), including commitments, fundraising pipeline, contacts, information changes, meeting/Zoom notes, and tasks/follow-ups
- Facilitate roadshow meeting plans and coordinate scheduling with relevant parties
- Manage the preparation for investor meetings, including compilation of investor backgrounds, and production of materials to address investor questions/agendas
- Respond to due diligence questionnaires (DDQs), investor prospect follow-ups, as well as LP portal and fundraise-related data room requests
- Demonstrate a working command of the valuation and fund modeling process; intermediate modeling skills required for pre-existing models
- Compile and present quantitative deliverables, including investor account summaries and cash flow models
- Conduct market research using marketing and analytics databases (e.g., Preqin, Cambridge, Pitchbook, etc.)
- Collaborate with Finance, Compliance, and Investment teams to ensure the timely delivery of accurate responses to investors
- Assist with logistics related to fund launching and closings
- Assist with the evaluation of LP-related software vendors to streamline workflow
- Facilitate the Annual General Meeting and other investor-related events by creating presentation materials and supporting planning and logistics
- Collaborate with the Sorenson Capital partners on the investor relations strategy by ideating, creating, refining, and managing programs
Qualifications
- 2 – 5 years of experience in investment banking, private fund placement, private equity investor relations, or third-party fund administration
- Self-starter and highly collaborative with excellent communication (written and oral), strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well in a small team structure
- Strong project management skills – organized and thorough with meticulous attention to detail
- Impact-oriented with high prioritization skills, ability to oversee multiple tasks and deliver projects in a timely manner
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic, a proven ability to take initiative and proactively address issues, and thrives in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments
- Mature with sound judgement and the ability to maintain a high level of discretion when managing confidential and privileged information; high integrity, low ego, and an uncompromised reputation
- Technical mastery of the Microsoft Office suite (specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
- Familiarity with CRM platforms, such as Attio, is a plus
Location
Candidates for this position must live in the Greater Salt Lake City Area or be willing to relocate. Candidates must be comfortable working from Sorenson Capital’s Lehi, Utah office.
