Vice President, Portfolio Management – Alternative Credit

This role is for a Vice President in Portfolio Management at Ares Management, focusing on project controls for data centers in the APAC region. What You’ll Do

• Lead and grow a team focused on project controls for data centers.
• Set clear expectations for project delivery and reporting.
• Inspect and audit projects to identify potential issues.
• Manage project controls plans and ensure baseline integrity.
• Define and maintain cost targets and schedule benchmarks.
• Collaborate with global teams to align local and global requirements.
• Drive monthly forecasting and variance analysis.

What You Need

• 10+ years in program/project controls for large capital or data center programs.
• 5-8 years leading teams, including external partners.
• Deep experience in cost modeling, scheduling, and risk management.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Advanced skills with project controls systems like Procore and P6.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar; advanced degree preferred.
• Fluency in English; Japanese is a plus.
