Vice President, Credit Investing

Ares Management is looking for a Vice President to join their credit platform in Boston. In this role, you’ll work closely with partners and the investment team to underwrite and negotiate private credit transactions. You’ll also develop relationships with private equity firms and manage portfolios. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong credit analysis skills and a passion for building client relationships.

What You’ll Do

• Underwrite and negotiate new private credit transactions.
• Develop relationships with private equity firms and manage portfolios.
• Lead the internal support staff and junior team members.
• Execute debt financings for various financial transactions.
• Conduct due diligence and present findings to investment committees.
• Oversee the legal documentation process.
• Utilize research to generate ideas and recommendations.
• Mentor junior team members.

What You Need

• 6+ years of experience in underwriting and execution roles.
• Strong background in direct lending or credit transactions.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or an MBA.
• Proven ability to build relationships with private equity sponsors and lending partners.
• Expertise in financing across the capital structure.
• Excellent financial modeling and accounting skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
