Vice President, Project Controls Lead, APAC

The Vice President, Project Controls Lead for APAC at Ares Management is a key role focused on overseeing project controls for data center developments. This position involves leading a team, setting project expectations, and ensuring effective risk and change management. The role is based in Tokyo, Japan, and offers a chance to significantly impact the growth of Ada Infrastructure in the region.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and grow the Project Controls team for Ada APAC.
• Set clear expectations for project delivery metrics.
• Inspect and audit delivery projects for potential issues.
• Own the integrated project controls plan for each project.
• Partner with Development to ensure smooth project execution.
• Define and maintain cost targets and schedule benchmarks.
• Manage risk and change control processes.

What You Need

• 10+ years in program/project controls for large capital or data center programs.
• 5-8 years leading teams, including external partners.
• Deep experience in cost modeling, scheduling, and risk management.
• Advanced skills with Procore, P6, and project controls systems.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar; advanced degree preferred.
• Fluency in English; Japanese is a plus.
