Thinking of joining the finance industry? Find out why 777 Partners could be the right firm for you

777 Partners Overview

777 Partners, located in Miami FL, is an alternative investment firm which supports high-growth verticals, particularly in the financial services sector.

In 2015, Josh Wander and Steven Pasko founded 777 partners through a management buyout of SuttonPark from PennantPark.

At first, the firm used its underwriting and financing expertise in specialized assets to expand its reach across the finance industry. This expansion includes diversification across various businesses, such as asset originators and providers of financial technology and services.

In recent years, the firm started to expand the industries they invest in which include consumer and commercial finance, insurance, litigation finance, media and entertainment, direct lending, and aviation.

777 Partners is 100% owned by its employees. This means that the capital they use to invest is their own capital which was earned through hard work and success of the firm’s employees.

Why 777 Partners

“Why this firm” is the most common and crucial question you’ll encounter during interviews.

If you’ve met people who work at the firm during your networking efforts, this is the perfect opportunity to mention whoever you’ve connected with and share how they’ve positively influenced your decision to join the firm.

Another good practice before showing up at interviews is doing some research about the firm. One way to do this is to listen to interviews with its founders, investors, and employees.

Case studies are almost always part of the interview process. That’s because firms use case studies to evaluate their candidates’ communication skills and technical knowledge.

Most case studies at firms like 777 Partners center around financial modeling and investment recommendations. But for junior roles, a cold calling case study may be required as well.
