Antler Overview
Antler is an early stage investment firm based in Singapore.
It is one of the most active seed investors and also has one of the largest networks of early stage founders.
Even though Antler’s main focus is on supporting early-stage companies, in 2021, they stated that it was considering venturing to later stages up to Series C.
Magnus Grimeland founded Antler in 2017. Mr. Grimeland graduated from Harvard and formerly served at McKinsey & Company.
Antler has additional offices in Sydney, Tokyo, Spain, Seoul, Singapore, Portugal, Jakarta, Bangalore, Stockholm, Berlin, London, New York, and Austin.

As of 2022, Antler has $500 million in assets under management.
Antler Interview Process & Questions
Despite the changes in the interview changes for each candidate, the general nature of the process stays the same for the most part. In fact, you can anticipate the following:
- Interview rounds: 4-6
- Initial interviews are supervised by junior professionals, while later rounds are handled by more senior folks
- Unless it’s on-campus or on-cycle recruiting, expect that the entire process will last for multiple weeks

Why Antler
One of the questions you must prepare for is the “Why this firm” question.
If you’ve met employees at the firm during your networking efforts, make sure to mention them and how their experiences and testimonies helped in choosing their firm.
Also, do your homework and research the firm. You can try listening to interviews with its founders, management team, and investors to get to know them better.

Antler Case Study
Communication skills and technical knowledge are two traits that investment firms highly value. To evaluate these, firms like Antler ask candidates to perform case studies.
Most case studies will have you do financial modeling and investment recommendations. But for junior roles, a cold calling case study may also be part of the process.

According to Crunchbase, Antler has made 1,214 investments across eight funds. Some of their notable deals include Buddywise, Cookie Deal, and Renew Earth lab.
Notable Transaction: Alterno
Alterno is the first affordable thermal energy storage solution in Asia designed for renewable energy. Their storage solution will be widely deployed across the region by 2050.
They use sand battery technology to provide thermal energy storage for agricultural applications such as warming, heating, and drying needs.
Altern? is one of the 3 teams who won the Net Zero Challenge back in 2023 in Vietnam and has also received grants from organizations and foundations such as Qualcomm, JETRO, and New Energy Nexus.
In April 2024, Altern? secured $1.5M in an oversubscribed funding round led by Radical Fund and Touchstone Partners.
Antler, Impact Square, and Glocalink also participated in the funding round.
