    • There will be 4 to 6 rounds of interviews.
    • Junior investment professionals or the HR team tend to conduct the initial rounds, while the more senior professionals supervise the later rounds.
    • The entire process can take multiple weeks – unless it’s “on-cycle” or “on-campus” recruiting

    Why Atomico

“Why this firm” is one of the frequently asked and most important interview questions.

If you’ve had the chance to connect with some of the firm’s employees, this is a great time to mention whoever you’ve met and how their insights about the firm inspired you to apply.

You can also consider listening to interviews with the firm’s founders, investors, and key personnels so you can relate better to the firm and come up with a more appropriate answer.

    Atomico Case Study

Two crucial attributes that candidates need to have when applying at firms like Atomico are sufficient technical knowledge and good communication skills. Case studies help firms assess these two attributes that’s why case studies almost always show up during interviews.

Most case studies focus on investment recommendations and financial modeling, but cold calling case studies are also often required if you’re applying for a junior role.

    Atomico Portfolio & Investments

Since inception, Atomico has already made 217 investments across five funds according to Crunchbase. Some of their notable deals include Digitail, Dexory, and Opna.

    Notable Transaction: Factorial

Factorial is a Barcelona-based startup which provides softwares to help companies with 100-200 employees to automate their human resources tasks such as payroll and recruiting.

With their services, Factorial makes it possible for smaller companies to utilize people management tools that are similar to those used by large corporations. This enables them to improve productivity and talent retention.

In October 2022, Factorial raised $120 million from a funding round led by Atomico, which gave Factorial a $1 billion valuation and gave the company “unicorn” status.

Singapore’s state investor GIC, CRV, Creandum, K-Fund, and Tiger Global also participated in the funding round.

The investment was allocated for its operation expansion in Brazil – a market which comprises 10% of Factorials 7,000 corporate clients.

Factorial plans to increase their operations fivefold the following year with Brazil as their primary focus for expansion.
