Blackstone Alternative Asset Management (BAAM®) manages approximately $80?billion across a diversified set of businesses, including a customized portfolio solutions business, a special situations platform, a business that purchases GP stakes in alternative asset managers, an open-ended mutual fund platform, and an emerging manager seeding business. BAAM invests across a variety of asset classes and strategies to create solutions for its investors. Program Description

Blackstone’s Summer Analyst Program spans 10 weeks, offering participants extensive exposure across the firm. This program provides Summer Analysts with valuable guidance through mentorship, continuous feedback, technical and soft skill training, networking opportunities with professionals across the firm, and the unique chance to fully immerse themselves in Blackstone’s culture.

Your application will be considered for a generalist position across the groups listed below:

Equity Strategy: The Equity Strategy Team is responsible for equity-related investments in BAAM’s absolute return platform “BAAM Portfolio Solutions”. The team’s investment process combines the public market and financial analysis characteristic of hedge fund investing with the strategic thinking of private equity.

Credit: The Credit Strategy Team is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and monitoring investments in hedge fund managers and direct investment opportunities throughout the capital structure in corporate and structured credit globally.

Liquid Strategies (LSG): The LSG Team is responsible for BAAM’s liquid alternative product offerings across both registered and private fund structures. The investment team handles all allocation and investment decisions for LSG and works closely with strategy and due diligence teams to assess underlying managers, strategies, and portfolios.

SAF: Blackstone’s BAAM Strategy Alliance Fund (SAF) group manages more than $2 billion of AUM in a strategy that provides seed capital to alternative investment managers in exchange for a revenue share interest in startup hedge funds and private credit funds. In acquiring and forming strategic partnerships with these funds, SAF offers Summer Analysts the opportunity to analyze, evaluate, and engage with companies and management teams across the globe. Our investment process combines the financial skills of investment banking, as well as the fundamental underwriting and strategic thinking of private equity.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new investment opportunities and monitor current managers within the BAAM funds
  • Industry research and competitive analysis
  • Analysis of fund strategies and individual managers
  • Drafting of memoranda for internal and external use
  • Data management

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student
  • Anticipated graduation date: Fall 2025 – Spring 2026

Expected annual base salary range:

$110,000 - $110,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual’s experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
