Business Unit Overview

Asset Based Finance

Since 2017, Asset Based Finance (“ABF”) is focused on privately originated, income-oriented credit assets secured by physical or financial collateral. ABF primarily invests in senior secured debt across a broad spectrum of high-conviction sectors (e.g., consumer lending, fund finance, digital infrastructure, solar, etc.).

Insurance Solutions

Blackstone Insurance Solutions (“BIS”) delivers Blackstone’s investment management expertise to insurers, helping those firms meet long-term policyholder obligations and drive shareholder value. BIS partners with insurers to deliver customizable and diversified portfolios of Blackstone products from Blackstone’s credit, real estate, and alternatives platforms, as well as the option for full, outsourced management of insurance companies’ investment portfolios.

Private Credit

Blackstone Credit is one of the world’s largest credit-focused asset managers. Credit seeks to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns for our clients by investing across the entire corporate credit market, from public debt to private loans. Our capital supports a wide range of companies across sectors and geographies, enabling businesses to expand, invest, and navigate changing market environments.

Program Description

Blackstone’s Summer Analyst Program spans 10 weeks, offering participants extensive exposure across the firm. This program provides Summer Analysts with valuable guidance through mentorship, continuous feedback, technical and soft skill training, networking opportunities with professionals across the firm, and the unique chance to fully immerse themselves in Blackstone’s culture. For Investment-type roles:

  • Working with the team to perform due diligence on prospective investments and participating in all aspects of the investment process from origination to deal closing. Responsibilities will include meeting with potential borrowers and their teams, industry/strategy research, quantitative or financial analysis, and drafting investment memoranda for internal and external use
  • Modeling and evaluating various types of deal structures
  • Assisting with the structuring and negotiating of deal term sheets
  • Reviewing credit agreements and other loan documentation
  • Thinking creatively about ways to improve the team’s existing processes

For Investment Management-type roles:

  • Support portfolio management team on portfolio construction and asset allocation
  • Generate reports to track market conditions to inform tactical asset allocation discussions
  • Partner with portfolio management team to produce materials for investment portfolio reviews
  • Performing ad hoc portfolio analysis to support needs of insurance clients including M&A activity
  • Collaborate with Blackstone’s business units to develop bespoke investment solutions across fixed income and alternative products
  • Construct detailed financial models and valuation analyses
  • Conduct insurance industry research and analysis

Qualifications

Blackstone seeks individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, a successful candidate will have:

  • Prior experience in the structured products space, with specific interest in asset-based lending, investment banking, actuarial, insurance, or asset management
  • A desire to work in a team environment and prioritize tasks
  • Strong financial modeling skills, with past experience modeling and evaluating transactions
  • Excellent technical proficiency in Excel/VBA. Experience in programming languages a plus
  • Prior experience preparing presentation materials using PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent attention to detail and good judgment
  • Intellectual curiosity and strong work ethic

  • Anticipated graduation date: Fall 2025 – Spring 2026

Expected annual base salary range:

$110,000 - $110,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual’s experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
