Blackstone’s Summer Analyst Program in Japan is 8-10 weeks in length and will provide participants broad exposure to the Firm. The Program offers Summer Analyst’s various technical training and professional development opportunities, the ability to network with professionals across all business units, and a robust mentorship experience to allow the participants to be fully immersed in the Blackstone culture.

Summer Analysts will be assigned to both the Real Estate Acquisitions and Asset Management teams in Japan.

Real Estate Acquisitions

Blackstone’s Real Estate Private Equity Group offers Summer Analysts the experience on a professional team whose work involves the acquisition of real estate-related companies, portfolios of real estate assets and individual properties worldwide.  Summer Analysts at Blackstone have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of real estate investing and can expect to be staffed on a number of transactions at once. Due to the relatively small size of the professional staff, Analysts are expected to assume integral roles on deal teams. Summer Analysts are involved with the development, structuring and financing of transactions and regularly attend both internal and external meetings, negotiations, and due diligence sessions.

Summer Analysts will work on a wide range of transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, recapitalizations, joint ventures, and leveraged buyouts.

Summer Analyst responsibilities may include:

  • Real estate and public company valuation analysis
  • Excel modeling
  • Market research
  • Data mining
  • Performing various analyses to assist in making investment decisions.
  • Development of presentations
  • Assisting with due diligence and execution of transactions
  • Drafting of memoranda for internal and external use
  • Assisting with legal negotiations and due diligence

Real Estate Asset Management

Blackstone’s Real Estate Asset Management Group expects analysts to be engaged in all aspects of real estate asset management, including assistance with acquisitions underwriting and asset visits, post-acquisition transition, strategy and execution of value enhancement strategies, asset valuation, budgeting and on-going underwriting, and analysis related to restructurings/recapitalizations, refinancing, and disposition strategies.  In this role, the Summer Analyst will work closely with Blackstone’s acquisition teams and portfolio company senior management.

Summer Analyst responsibilities may include:

  • Financial analysis and modeling
  • Market research, asset tours, borrower relationship management
  • Competitive analysis
  • Development of presentations and reporting for internal and external use
  • Assist in the execution of transactions, including due diligence.

Requirements:

To be considered for the 2025 Summer Analyst position in Real Estate, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled as a fulltime undergraduate or master’s degree student. If you are pursuing a master’s degree, you should have no more than 1 year of fulltime working experience.
  • Anticipated graduation date: September 2025 – June 2026
  • Fluent in English and Japanese (reading, listening, writing, speaking)
  • CV must be in English (adding a Japanese version is optional)
  • CV must include expected graduation month/year and grade.
  • CV must be in PDF format.
  • A copy of your latest transcript

Summer Internship Program Commencement

  • June to August 2025 (8-10 weeks)
