Builders VC
We’re seeking someone who wants a year or more working lock-step in everything I do. I’m a VC at an institutional firm, I run the Digital Health Hub Foundation that puts on the largest awards show in the healthcare industry and I manage my past 100 or so investments as an advisor/mentor. This is no conventional gig but my past ‘junior partners’ have gone on to run the nation’s leading venture firm, started Cisco’s biggest acquisition, took 5 or 6 companies public, and started hedge funds…you can’t be overly conventional, you need to be whip-smart and you need to have a presence, be hands-on with digital marketing and sales chops. You also can’t come from just banking, you need to have some operational skills because there will be weekends where dirty fingers make the difference and you need to want to be in the health and wellness sector. If you don’t aspire to lead and haven’t always been ‘the best at what you do’, don’t bother applying!
Responsibilities
Walk hand in hand with Partner Mark Goldstein on the venture side sourcing new deals, existing investments, closing financings and working with other venture co-investors and Builders’ Partners. But wait there’s more!….working with Mark, and the full-time Digital Health Health Hub Foundation team, you’ll help champion new company submissions for the 6th Annual Awards event, learning and interacting with the best of the best companies in health and wellness. Also coordinate, sell and design partnerships with firms like Microsoft, Genentech, Salesforce and others.
Qualifications
Ideally, two years of experience in digital health, beauty, wellness or medical devices space either as an operator or investor and some knowledge as a direct or institutional investor whether as an intern or analyst. While an MBA is nice, it’s unnecessary and an engineering background or years of actual industry experience is likely better. Being comfortable presenting to Boards and management teams is also a big plus.
