Dream VC is an African-focused investor accelerator and venture capital institute. We are not a VC fund, do not currently deploy capital into startups through an investment vehicle, and do not accept unsolicited pitches from startups seeking investment.
We run 2 annual VC training programs for current and aspiring investors focused on Africa: Launch into VC and Investor Accelerator. If you are unsure about which program to apply for, please make sure to read the FAQ section of our website’s home page here before you complete this application.Â
About Dream VC – TLDR Version
- One of the most comprehensive VC fellowship programs in the world, with a specific lens on investing and building in African startup ecosystems.
- Dream VC only runs one cohort of venture capital fellowship programs annually between summer to autumn.
- All Dream VC programs are entirely remote but have a strong focus on community building and contact hours.
- Both programs are highly intensive and immersive, akin to a compact MBA-style course. If you cannot find the time to commit 15 – 20 hours a week towards the program, the fellowship is probably not the best fit for you at the moment.
- Our programs come with a tuition cost (exact details can be found in the homepage FAQ and on the program pages), but need-based financial aid is provided every year due to the generosity of Dream VC’s Access Foundation.
- This application is Stage 1 of a multi-stage application process; our programs are highly competitive every year and have a ~4% acceptance rate.
- You do not need to have prior startup experience, a financial/investment background, or have to be of African descent in order to take part in our programs. We encourage you to take a shot, even if you have no connections whatsoever in the African VC & startup space!
