Within the ETS sector, this associate will specifically focus on the infrastructure technology subsector. The infrastructure technology subsector includes IT Security, Big Data/Analytics, DevOps, IT Operations Management, Managed Service Providers, Government, Risk & Compliance. ABOUT THE ASSOCIATE ROLE

An Associate is an important member of FTV’s investment professional team. Working closely with other team members, this role is very forward-facing with tremendous responsibility including: sourcing new investment opportunities, conducting analysis and diligence within execution of investments, and assisting with management of portfolio companies. As an important member of the Enterprise Technology and Services (ETS) deal team, a successful candidate must have the personal presence and communication skills necessary to develop productive, lasting and influential relationships with CEOs, management teams, other investors, investment bankers and services providers. This person will serve in the Associate role for one to three years, and has the opportunity for promotion to Senior Associate.

Specifically, we are looking for someone who has sourced and executed on infrastructure technology deals either as an investment banking analyst/associate and/or as a growth equity investor.

Ideal qualifications include:

  • At least 2 full years of investment banking experience within a technology group and/or M&A group.
  • Experience within growth and/or middle market private equity experience may also be beneficial.
  • Broad experience with and interest in enterprise technology and tech-enabled services with specific experience within infrastructure technology (IT Security, Big Data/Analytics, DevOps, IT Operations Management, Managed Service Providers, Government Risk & Compliance.
  • Exposure to all facets of the private equity investment process (from the bankers or investors perspective), financial and business analysis, transaction negotiation
  • Possesses a highly analytical, data-driven mindset and outstanding communication skills
  • Indications of investment sourcing skills: the ability to generate ideas and qualify investment opportunities; the ability to build and maintain a network of contacts with management teams, intermediaries, social networks and other relevant constituents
  • A willingness to engage operationally, and a passion for working with small growing companies
  • Outstanding approach to work; proactive, analytical, thoughtful and a creative thinker
  • Strong work ethic, team orientation, highest ethical standards
  • A track record of strong academic achievement, including undergraduate and graduate degrees (not required) from leading academic institutions
  • Based in the greater New York City Metropolitan area.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Expected annual salary range of $150,000-175,000 plus annual performance based bonus
  • Flexible in-office and work-from-home schedule of 4 days in office and 1 day from home per week.
  • For in-office workdays, lunch expenses (up to $25/day per employee) are covered by FTV.
