Position Summary

General Atlantic is looking to hire a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate with a background in public accounting to support the Management Company Operations team. This position will report directly to the Senior Director, Management Company. This individual will participate in executing the firm’s finance transformation strategy and will have responsibilities including, but not limited to: preparation of journal entries, performing account reconciliations and analysis, collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency, assisting in financial reviews and audits, maintaining internal controls, and assisting with ad hoc projects as needed. This individual will play an integral role in meeting monthly and quarterly financial reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Support in optimizing the finance transformation process in preparation for a potential IPO
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and utilize technology tools to streamline close processes and improve efficiency
  • Prepare month-end and quarter-end accrual entries
  • Review the firm’s consolidated results for correct general ledger account and cost center coding
  • Perform account reconciliations and roll forward on key management company accounts
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for internal controls ensuring compliance with control procedures
  • Perform analytical review over quarterly/annual results and provide explanations for variances year-over-year and quarter-over-quarter
  • Assist with the preparation of information and analyses to be delivered to our external auditor in connection with annual audits or interim reviews
  • Assist with preparation of disclosure information for corporate accounting team for inclusion in the firm’s 10-K financial statements
  • Prepare quarterly covenant calculations required by the Company’s credit agreement
  • Assist in the preparation of schedules needed for management reporting
  • Work on special accounting-related projects (i.e., mergers, acquisitions, etc.) on an ad hoc basis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of public accounting experience, CPA required
  • Experience performing public company closing processes; alternative asset management experience preferred
  • Proficient understanding of US GAAP
  • Strong team player with ability to work independently as needed
  • Attention to detail and desire to produce accurate, timely, and meaningful reporting
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PPT
  • Workday Financial, Alteryx, MS Power Query and Workiva knowledge a plus
  • Strong analytical abilities, creativity, thoughtful business judgment and professional maturity
  • Record of outstanding professional and academic achievement
  • High energy level, strong communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for investing
  • Desire to collaborate with colleagues throughout the firm globally
