Job Description:

We are seeking a driven, high-performing investor to join our Boston-based investment team backing the leading seed and pre-seed AI and frontier technology founders disrupting the enterprise. Our newest team member will play a core role in the areas of sourcing, ecosystem engagement, due diligence, opportunity evaluation, and portfolio support. As an investor, this individual would specialize in artificial intelligence and frontier technology applied to problems faced in the largest enterprises. They would be expected to develop areas of unique expertise and access to investment opportunities as a means to source and diligence investment opportunities alongside Partners and the broader investment team.

Responsibilities:

Sourcing Investment Opportunities

• Identify and build relationships with early-stage AI and frontier technology founders
• Lead efforts in the local venture ecosystem and national AI community
• Develop and validate investment theses
• Assess viability of investment opportunities and prioritize due diligence processes

Supporting Investment Diligence

• Collaborate with investment team to conduct due diligence on potential investments and make recommendations to the investment committee
• Holistically evaluate investment opportunities in the areas of technology, product, market size, competitive analysis, business model, among others
• Support the negotiation of terms around transactions for portfolio company financings through financial modeling and scenario analysis

Providing Best-In-Class Portfolio Support

• Serve as a founder’s first call for support in both good and bad times
• Partner with Platform Team and other Building Partners to provide best-in-class support of executives across business functions
• Leverage personal and firm relationships to connect portfolio companies with marquis customers, follow-on investors, executive and technical talent, and service providers
• Coordinate on company monitoring alongside Finance and Platform teams

Driving Internal Projects

• Identify valuable strategic initiatives to improve business processes and the firm’s positioning within the market
• Develop and execute projects based on the needs of the firm

Qualifications:

· At least 2 years of experience in venture capital, startup operating roles, technology, and/or consulting

· A differentiated area of expertise and access to high-caliber investment opportunities

· Strong network or demonstrated ability to build a community of potential seed stage founders

· Quantitative and analytical skills with experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CRM tools

· Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

· This position is designed for pre-MBA candidates

· Boston based or willing to relocate to Boston
