Venture Capital Summer Analyst

Growth Warrior Capital invests at Seed and Series A in dangerous technology companies led by exceptional founders, building platforms that fundamentally change the way we work, earn, and build wealth. We are a team of operators that are advancing the funding landscape for women and founders of color, grounded in our Managing Partner Promise Phelon’s 20 years as a founder and exec in Silicon Valley.

As we continue deploying, we are seeking summer analysts to supercharge our pipeline and help us look at more deals, faster. This role is suited to hunters, who are energized by proactively seeking out investment opportunities, building relationships, and deep diving on markets and businesses. Summer analysts will receive mentorship from top operators and investors, access critical conversations with portfolio companies and a seat at the table / ability to influence serious decisions.

Key functions:

• Investment Origination
  • Identify growth industries, creative sourcing strategies, and investment prospects.
  • Build pipeline of prospective investment opportunities and elevate high quality opportunities to senior team members.
• Research & Analysis
  • Evaluate investment opportunities including market research, industry trends, metrics benchmarking, financial analysis, and more.
• Network Development
  • Collaborate with Principal to identify and build relationships with key industry stakeholders.

• Not afraid to think differently and push back, have a strong POV, voraciously curious, loves learning
• Get sh*t done attitude — we are small and we work hard
• Ability to work independently, but know when to ask for help
• Deep understanding of the funding landscape for diverse and female founders — bonus points for coming with a thesis about what’s working/what’s not
• There’s no perfect set of experiences for this job. Fantastic candidates will have a range of backgrounds, and some of the strongest candidates may not have any finance experience. We value your drive, enthusiasm, and ability – not your class schedule.

What success looks like:

• Source and close 1-2 deals by end of summer
• Strengthen ability to source and analyze high quality investment opportunities
• Build interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in fast paced team and industry

This is a paid position that will run for 8 weeks beginning in June 2024.
