About The Team

You’d be joining Riverside Acceleration Capital (RAC), a fund that makes growth capital investments into expansion-stage enterprise technology companies, across a wide range of end-markets. Our investments are tailored to meet the needs of each company, and we use multiple forms of capital to accomplish that: RAC Royalty makes non-dilutive investments in companies with $2+ million in recurring revenue and growing, and RAC Opportunity Fund makes minority, preferred equity investments in companies with $5-$50 million in recurring revenue and 25%-100%+ growth. Our current team of 15 is based primarily in Riverside’s New York office.

The Role

RAC is looking for a charismatic and energetic investor Associate to join our team at our NYC headquarters for a two-year role.

As our Associate, you will play a significant role in all of RAC’s investment activities, including the identification, initial review and due diligence of investment opportunities. This will include overseeing the initial review of new investments, project managing the deal close process including overseeing the build of financial models, the development of investment memos and participation in due diligence workshops with prospective investments. All team members are involved in advancing RAC’s platform and in aspects of RAC’s deal sourcing efforts; this role included.

By the end of…

Your first month, you’ll have:

  • Familiarized yourself with our existing analysis templates, portfolio and processes.
  • Sat in on diligence meetings with prospective investments.

Your first quarter, you’ll have:

  • Reviewed deal screens prepared by RAC Analysts and/or outside resources.
  • Analyzed the financials and KPIs of prospective investments.
  • Drafted portions of RAC’s investment memos.
  • Built, refined and/or reviewed and refined robust financial models to support our investment theses.

Your first year, you’ll have:

  • Actively participated in, and/or led, calls with investment prospects to discuss financial diligence items.
  • Developed a critical viewpoint on underlying financial trends and potential areas of concern.
  • Participated in voting on go/no-go decisions for investment opportunities.
  • Worked on special projects that improve the efficiency of our due diligence processes
  • Participated in RAC’s business development efforts in some way (attending a conference, etc.)
  • Helps RAC advance its platform, processes and operations in some way

Who You Are

We’d like to see:

  • 3-5 years of experience at an investment banking and/or principal investing firm
  • Deep understanding of, and proficiency in working with, corporate financial statements
  • Financial modeling experience
  • Experience with financial forecasting and modeling
  • Familiarity with capitalization tables and equity waterfalls
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Desire to work hard and do timely and excellent work
  • Interested in how technology is impacting industries
  • Will thrive in a high-volume environment where they evaluate hundreds of B2B technology startups each year
  • Based in the NYC metro area and able to be in the office 4-5 days/week

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in early-stage technology companies
  • Understanding of SaaS performance metrics

Riverside offers a competitive total rewards package with a salary range of $110,000-130,0000 (depending on experience) plus annual bonuses, robust benefits, and generous Paid Time Off (PTO).
