Industry Research Analyst / Writer

Expected compensation: $45.00 – $60.00 per hour

HireArt is helping Toyota Ventures find an experienced Industry Research Analyst / Writer with the ability to analyze and synthesize trends in emerging sectors. This includes climate and frontier technologies, such as AI, mobility, autonomy, robotics, materials, energy storage/batteries, hydrogen solutions and other areas.

In this newly created role, you will work closely with the director of marketing to develop industry market briefs and presentations that explain key technologies and trends that our investment team is exploring. It’s a dynamic role that involves researching multiple industries, often at the same time, to understand the market landscape and create written reports for key stakeholders that Toyota Ventures partners with. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and communicator with deep analytical and research skills. Candidates must also have a proven ability to explain complex technical topics in simple terms for a business audience.

As a Senior Research Analyst, You Will

• Conduct research, interviews, and data analyses on a range of emerging technology sectors.
• Partner with investment team to gain insights and understand their perspectives on the current startup landscape in different sectors.
• Work directly with the director of marketing to understand processes, audience, report formats, and deadlines.
• Create content for industry market briefs, market maps, and other research reports/presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (relevant graduate degree is a plus)
• 5+ years of experience as a research/technical writer for a business audience
• Previous experience in the market research, venture capital, or management consulting fields
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong understanding of a variety of frontier/climate technologies
• Market research and data analysis experience
• Strong working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines
• Self-starter who works well independently
• Passionate about emerging technologies
• Candidates must submit a portfolio of existing work

Commitment: This is a full-time, 6-months to 1-year contract remote position staffed via HireArt. It will be hybrid (at least one day in office per week) for candidates who are local to the San Francisco, CA area.
