Robert Berman and Roy Neurberger founded the firm in 1939. Currently, the firm’s headquarters is located in New York, United States.

In July 2023, Mercury closed a $200 million debt facility from client funds handled by Neuberger Berman.
Mercury will allocate the funds for credit card business expansion and also for continuation of its top-tier services and financial to middle-class Americans.
