NFX Interview Process & Questions
Each candidate may go through a slightly different interview process. But, if you interview at NFX (or a firm like it), you’ll most likely experience the following:
- More or less five rounds of interviews
- Junior investment professionals or the HR team will be the ones interviewing you during the initial rounds, while more senior staff supervise the later rounds
- The whole interview process can take weeks – unless it’s on-cycle or on-campus recruiting
Expect the interviews at NFX to be a combination of behavioral questions, fit questions, and investing / technical questions.

Why NFX
Most (if not all) interviewers will ask you the “why this firm” question.
If you’ve attended networking events and had the chance to meet their employees, this is the perfect time to mention whoever you’ve met and mention how they’ve positively influenced your decision to apply at the firm.
It’s also a good practice to know more about the firm. For this I’d suggest listening to interviews with its investors, founders, and key personnels.
To help you get started, here’s Omri Amirav-Drory, General Partner at NFX, sharing everything he learned as a Founder and Investor:

NFX Case Study
Case studies almost always show up during interviews. That’s because case studies reveal a candidate’s level of technical knowledge and communication skills.
Most case studies at firms like NFX are about investment recommendations and financial modeling. However, junior roles are also often tasked to perform a cold calling case study as well.
I’ve discussed case studies in great detail inside my Growth Equity Interview Guide.
